In traditional Aboriginal art places of meeting or connection are usually marked as a circle or set of concentric circles, symbolling places, people, bush tucker, land and waterways. The artworks are depicted from an aerial view, like looking down on a map.
Wiradjuri Lines are a representation of the intricate designs found throughout the scar trees found on Wiradjuri Country. These line markings are found on scar trees after a coolamon or canoe has been cut out from the tree, leaving a scar. It is then designed with markings which may represent traditional Elders.
