The Sydney Opera House has teamed up with Tasmanian-born designer and maker Lyn Hellewell of Recolab to create a product range with sustainability top of mind. Lyn has a passion for using repurposed materials that would otherwise be destined for landfill. Her brand, Recolab, stands for Repurposed Eco-friendly Collaborative Laboratory and she creates bags and other accessories using materials as varied as sail fabric, billboard skins, abandoned festival tents, theatre seat upholstery and street banners.

This collection has been a few years in the making – born out of a desire between the Opera House’s building, sustainability, and retail teams to repurpose materials from across the building and divert them from landfill.
