This 3D model presents a different perspective of the Opera House - from above. It gives you a bird's eye view of a building that changed the course of twentieth-century architecture. Featured in Utzon’s first folio of works, The Red Book, this documented an approach to the Sydney Opera House, outlining the headland and its relationship to the Bennelong Lawn and Government House and the defining of the Quay sea wall. This model represents that drawing’s simplicity, and shows the basic shell relationships and forms in conjunction with the plinth, and relationship to the Harbour.
Made in Sydney from eco-friendly resin-plaster with all materials sourced locally.
Please be aware due to the models being cast by hand in a traditional, non-injection-moulded process, every model is individual, the plaster may have very small inclusions, which can show as streaks, marks and colour changes, deviations and air pockets.
