The Jacaranda Campsite necklace is individually hand-made and painted from the jacaranda seed pods that fall naturally from the jacaranda tree. The pods are gathered, split and carefully hand painted before being finished with gloss and a fine black leather cord.
In traditional Aboriginal art places of meeting or connection are usually marked as a circle or set of concentric circles, symbolling places, people, bush tucker, land and waterways. The artworks are depicted from an aerial view, like looking down on a map.
The Campsite symbolises camping and rest stops. Common campgrounds can be found between hunting grounds and ceremonial grounds in between communities.
